James O. Pawelski, PhD

James O. Pawelski, PhD, is Professor of Practice and Director of Education in the Positive Psychology Center and Adjunct Professor of Religious Studies in the School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. Since 2005, he has served as the founding director of Penn’s Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) program, where he teaches courses on positive interventions and on the humanities and human flourishing, and for which he has received the Liberal and Professional Studies Award for Distinguished Teaching in Professional Graduate Programs.

Tuition and Fees

Your tuition in the Master of Applied Positive Psychology Program at the University of Pennsylvania is calculated at a per semester rate. Tuition is based on the program schedule at the rates listed in the table below.

Program Format & Schedule

One of the most distinctive features of the Master of Applied Positive Psychology degree is our innovative hybrid program delivery model. The format includes intensive on-site classes about one weekend each month, followed by interactive distance learning modules over the intervening weeks. In the fall and spring semesters, on-sites 1, 3, and 5 will be delivered on our Philadelphia campus and on-sites 2 and 4 will be delivered on our virtual campus. Synchronous attendance for all on-sites is required.
