Course Description
This lecture course surveys visual art and other materials produced in the United States from the era of the American Revolution through the start of the American Century in the mid-1940s. We will focus on the painting, sculpture, architecture, mass media, popular performance, and decorative arts that helped to shape American culture at home and abroad.
