Penn’s Master of Behavioral and Decision Sciences (MBDS) welcomes its newest industry affiliate: The Center for Behavior and the Environment at Rare, an organization dedicated to safeguarding and restoring natural resources through social change. Rare’s programs include community-led solutions to coastal overfishing, enhancing sustainable agriculture practices in Colombia and beyond, and researching actions that individuals to take to help reduce emissions and make a positive impact on the environment. The Center for Behavior and the Environment partners with academic and research institutions around the world to leverage behavioral science and design thinking approaches to tackle the world’s most challenging environmental issues.

As an MBDS industry affiliate, Rare and the Center for Behavior and the Environment will empower sustainability-minded students to apply the tools and insights of behavioral science to solve urgent challenges in human behavior and how it impacts the environment.
