Lecturer, Applied Geosciences Program
Dr. Leena Shevade is a water resources engineer with over 20 years of industry and research experience in civil and environmental engineering, stormwater management, and resilient infrastructure design. She serves as an assistant teaching professor in the Sustainable Engineering Program at Villanova University, teaching graduate courses and mentoring industry-academic collaboration projects.
Alongside her academic appointment, Dr. Shevade works as a project engineer with Boomi Environmental in New York City. Her professional work includes 1D–2D modeling of drainage infrastructure, integrating resiliency and sustainability principles into stormwater and cloudburst design for major NYC Department of Environmental Protection projects.
At the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Shevade co-instructs the Geomechanics course each spring in the MSAG program, bringing experience in field-based geotechnical data collection and its application to infrastructure and stormwater system design.
She holds a PhD in environmental engineering from Drexel University and is an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in Pennsylvania.
