Faculty Director, G-MPA Program; Associate Faculty Director, Fox Leadership International
Chao Guo is the Associate Professor of Nonprofit Management in the School of Social Policy and Practice, Associate Faculty Director of Fox Leadership International, and Faculty Director of the I-MPA program. He is also founding co director of the China Institute for Philanthropy and Social Innovation at Renmin University of China.
Dr. Guo is Editor-in-Chief of Nonprofit & Voluntary Sector Quarterly, the premier journal in the field. His award-winning research includes the 2014 text, Social Entrepreneurship: An Evidence-Based Approach to Creating Social Value and the 2020 book, The Quest for Attention: Nonprofit Advocacy in a Social Media Age. Actively involved in community-serving projects, he serves as Faculty Director of Penn Restorative Entrepreneurship Program (PREP), which helps formerly incarcerated persons to become entrepreneurs, participate in civic engagement, and advocate for social justice.
Dr. Guo received his PhD in public administration from the University of Southern California, and his BA in international relations from Renmin University of China.
