Senior Associate, Fox Leadership International and Partnership for Effective Public Administration and Leadership Ethic
Lilian Vaughn is a Senior Associate of Fox Leadership International (FLI) and the Partnership for Effective Public Administration and Leadership Ethics (PEPALE). Hailing from the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania in East Africa, Lilian is fluent in English and Swahili and can understand the indigenous languages of the Pare and Chaga tribes of northern Tanzania. Lilian earned a BA in English from the University of Dodoma in 2011 with the honor of serving as the lass Representative for all English majors in the college. After earning her teaching certificate from Tumaini University Makumira, Lilian went on to teach English and Swahili at Mbwawa Lutheran Secondary School in the coastal region of Bagamoyo, one of the poorest regions in the country. At Mbwawa, Lilian raised Tsh 11.5 million (USD 4,900.00) to found and direct the Champions Talent & Sports Program which provided enrichment activities and developmental opportunities for struggling students. Lilian also served as the Religion Coordinator for the Lutheran students at the school's local chapter of the UKWATA organization (the Christian Student Fellowship of Tanzania). Lilian came to the United States in 2015 and now lives with her husband and two children in Northeast Philadelphia.
